The holy month of Ramadan Begin.
The UAE’s moon-sighting committee did not sight the crescent moon on Thursday evening
Today, May 27 is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in the country, according to an announcement by the UAE Moon-sighting Committee on Friday night.
The committee, tasked with sighting the crescent of the holy month of Ramadan, announced that Friday was the last day of Shaban Hijri 1438, and Saturday, May 27, is the first day of Ramadan.
In a statement issued after the meeting at the Judiciary department, Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi Al Dhahiri, Minister of Justice, Chairman of the committee said that after investigation and following the ‘legal ways of proof and communications’ with neighboring countries, where they sighted the crescent of the holy month, today( Friday) completes the month of Shaban and Saturday is the first day of Ramadan.
Al Dhahiri and the members of the committee extended their sincerest felicitations and greetings, on the advent of the holy month, to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice president, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, their highnesses members of the Supreme Council and rulers of the emirates and the Crown Princes.
He prayed to Almighty Allah for the President’s good health. He also congratulated the people of UAE and Muslims all over the world on the advent of the holy month.
Earlier, the Committee announced it could not sight the crescent moon for the holy month of Ramadan on Thursday evening.
